Works are due to commence shortly on Hammersley Lane as part of ongoing infrastructure and access improvements associated with the Rayners Penn project.
These activities comprise two elements: the opening of the Rayners Penn wall on Hammersley Lane to facilitate power supply infrastructure on site, and upgrades to the local power network servicing the development.

Over the coming weeks, shrubbery within the Rayners Penn boundary will be cleared to allow for the careful dismantling of a section of wall along Hammersley Lane. Temporary hoardings will then be erected in its place for the duration of the construction project. This opening aligns with the new entrance previously approved under the original planning permission.
As with the entrance works on Church Road, the wall will be rebuilt at the conclusion of the project using brick and flint in accordance with drawings approved by Buckinghamshire Council. The final design has been developed to reflect the character of the existing estate boundaries and remain visually sympathetic to the surrounding area. The new wall alignment will also be set back slightly within the site.
Works to the wall are currently anticipated to take place between 27th and 29th May 2026, although construction programmes may occasionally change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Alongside these works, upgrades to the local power network will also be undertaken to support the site. Whilst the majority of activity will take place within the Rayners Penn boundary, certain elements will necessarily be carried out on Hammersley Lane itself.

These power network upgrades have been approved by Buckinghamshire Council and are currently programmed between Monday 1st June and Friday 12th June 2026. The works will be undertaken by Ingenious Power Engineering on behalf of the local Distribution Network Operator.
Separate notification letters regarding traffic management and access arrangements will be issued directly to residents in Hammersley Lane ahead of the works commencing. Due to the nature of these works, the section of Hammersley Lane between the Rayners Penn wall and The Old Queens Head will be temporarily closed, with access maintained for Hammersley Lane residents only. Ingenious Power Engineering will install diversion signage for the duration of the works.
Apologies are extended in advance for any inconvenience this temporary arrangement may cause.
Throughout this period, construction vehicles associated with the main project will continue to access the site via the existing Church Road entrance.

These improvements form part of the wider long-term infrastructure strategy for Rayners Penn, balancing the practical requirements of the project with a careful and considered approach to the surrounding historic setting.
