Construction works at Rayners Penn continue to progress in a carefully sequenced manner, with the project now entering the next stage of basement construction.
Following earlier preparatory activity on site, piling works for the basement area are due to commence in early February. This phase marks an important point in the overall programme and will involve the arrival of specialist equipment and an increase in on-site activity.
From 9 February, the piling rig and associated machinery will be delivered to Rayners Penn. For approximately three weeks thereafter, there will be a temporary increase in construction traffic as concrete deliveries take place. More generally, daily lorry movements to and from the site will increase over the next two months as works progress.
To help ensure that Church Road and its surroundings remain clean and well managed during this period, a daily road sweeper has been appointed to address any debris associated with construction traffic. In addition, branded hoarding along Church Road will be installed during the first week of February, providing a clear and tidy edge to the site while works are underway.
Careful and Responsible Site Management
Waste management arrangements remain an important part of site operations. Skip collections are currently scheduled on a fortnightly basis and will be adjusted as activity levels change. Materials are managed with an emphasis on reuse and recycling where practicable, with performance monitored on a monthly basis. The contractor’s target is to divert up to 98% of construction waste away from landfill, supporting a responsible and measured approach to resource management.
The site continues to operate in line with the principles of the Considerate Contractors Scheme, which promotes high standards across the construction industry. Measures are in place to manage noise, traffic movements, and site housekeeping with care and consideration throughout the works.
