Preparing the Ground at Rayners Penn

Site preparation and set-up works are progressing steadily at Rayners, marking an important phase in readiness for the main construction programme.

Asbestos removal is currently being carried out across the site and is scheduled to be completed prior to the Christmas period. These works are undertaken in accordance with strict safety and regulatory requirements, ensuring the site is fully prepared for subsequent stages.

Over the coming two months, activity on site will increase as the project moves into the next stage of early works. This will include a rise in construction vehicle movements as essential infrastructure is put in place. Tree protection measures will be installed from the main entrance gate through to the compound area, safeguarding established trees ahead of the formation of the site haul road.

In parallel, temporary site electrics will be connected, and ground levels will be carefully prepared for the installation of the piling mat – an engineered platform designed to safely support the heavy machinery required for piling works. This will enable piling to commence in the basement areas, representing a key milestone in the build programme.

The site will close for the Christmas break from Wednesday 24 December, reopening on Monday 5 January. This pause allows works to resume in the new year in a planned and coordinated manner. Throughout this period, site security will be maintained to ensure the site remains safe and secure.

As the year draws to a close, warm wishes are extended for a happy and healthy break spent with family and friends.
