From Monday, 27 October, Walter Lilly will formally begin work on site at Rayners Penn, marking the start of the next chapter in the estate’s restoration.
The initial period will be a soft launch, during which the team will establish their site office and welfare facilities within the existing stable block. Shortly after, asbestos removal will commence across the mansion house and several ancillary buildings.
Early groundworks will also begin, preparing an area for Walter Lilly’s long-term office and welfare accommodation, as well as setting out internal traffic routes for site vehicles. Minor adjustments to hoarding within the site boundary will be made to improve access and ensure local traffic remains unaffected.
For residents and neighbours, there may be limited visible change during these first weeks. However, essential preparatory works will be progressing steadily behind the scenes. Throughout this period, the project team remains committed to maintaining a respectful, tidy and well-managed site, ensuring the highest standards of safety and consideration as restoration progresses.
Rayners Penn continues to collaborate with Walter Lilly to develop the programme of works and more specific updates will be provided once these have been agreed.
